The Vincent's Become Hermits

First of all - 3 posts in one day!!?!! I feel a little like a Blogger Rockstar! I have been trying for days to post but had trouble with pictures but today the planets aligned and everything worked. Be sure you read them all! :)

The Vincent Family has officially decided to become a family of hermits. In the past 5 days we have only left the house for a total of two hours. It has been WONDERFUL! I swear I could stay home with my family all the time. Jeremy and I haven't killed each other, the kids have plenty to entertain themselves with, and we have plenty of groceries so it has been perfect! We are heading out tomorrow for a date night, but Lord knows that is a well deserved one. I literally can not remember the last one we had!

Here are a few pictures of how we have spent our days at home.

Cooper thinks that Colby's video rocker was a good seat for him to have........all the time. He pushes his bub off so he can sit there!

Cooper is learning to push the button on his car to go for a ride. Most of the time though the three of us take turns pushing him around the house.

I feel sure that it won't be long until Colby has wore a path out doing circles around the kitchen and living rooms on his Razor scooter.

It took Cooper DAYS to get brave enough to go through the door of the barn. Now he has no problem with it!:)

The house looks like a toy store blew up in it. This drives me a bit crazy, but the kids enjoy it so let it be!

When we did find the floor Jeremy was nice enough to vacuum. I took a picture to capture this moment in time as it is a RARE occasion for sure!

I made an Oreo Pie for the first time and Cooper was a BIG fan! He would scream between bites wanting more!

Couldn't you just eat this sweet face up! I wish I looked this cute making a mess! Ha!

I hope you have all enjoyed what time you have had off too! We have for sure!

Winter Wonderland

The snow that we got over the Christmas holiday was BEAUTIFUL! Here are a few pictures from our home. If the Farmer's Almanac predictions are correct, there will be A LOT more of the white stuff coming our way in January too!

It says:

JANUARY 2011: temperature 29 ° (2 ° below avg.); precipitation 2" (1" below avg.); Jan 1-5: Snow showers, cold; Jan 6-14: Rain to snow, then snow showers, cold; Jan 15-21: Snowstorm, then snow showers, very cold; Jan 22-25: Snow squalls, bitter cold; Jan 26-31: Snow showers, cold.

I don't know about you..........but I see snow days in our future! So much for school being out in May if this is right! Oh well....I take my days off ANY time I can get them! :)

Christmas Day

Christmas morning I was woken up by Colby screaming "He came! He came! Oh - and I opened my stocking already!" Colby got up around 7:15 and Santa had been here!

Colby got several things, his favorite of which was his new dirt bike helmet. He also racked up on Legos (but I am still not convinced he has the patience to put them together).

I just LOVE all of the excited faces that Colby makes when opening gifts! It is the sweetest (and often funniest) thing!

Cooper got the Fisher Price Learning Farm and a few Chuck the talking truck toys. He has fallen in love with the barn and plays with it quite often. Colby really enjoyed opening all of Cooper's gifts for him this year too!

After we had opened gifts Colby remembered to go and check to see if Santa had eaten his cookies. Not only did he eat his cookies and drink his milk, but he also left a note for each boy and there was a note from Fred (our Elf on the Shelf) telling the boys he enjoyed living with us and that he has gone to the North Pole with Santa until next year!

And to make Christmas even better.........it was a WHITE Christmas! The snow was beautiful! We had about 3 1/2 inches on Christmas morning. It was wonderful!

Of course I had to get the boys in matching pajamas. We feel so blessed to have two sweet boys to share Christmas with this year!

My favorite Christmas Day tradition is that we go NOWHERE at all on Christmas Day! After we open gifts, I cook a big breakfast around 10:00 and invite all the grandparents over to eat and visit the kids and play with them. This is wonderful for us because the kids get to romp and play with their new things all day and we don't have to get out of our pajamas!

This was hands down the best Christmas we have ever had. We are blessed in so many ways - way more than we deserve! We sing praise to God and thank Him for all of our blessings. I hope your Christmas was wonderful as well!

Christmas Eve

We had the most wonderful Christmas this year! Christmas Eve was the only day that we had to run the roads, but things were spaced out nicely and it made for a smooth day.

We started the morning off at Jeremy's Dad's house. Papaw Larry and I cooked breakfast for the family and we exchanged gifts and hung out for a while. Then we came home and took a nice long nap before heading to our next stop.

We exchanged gifts and had dinner at Aunt Linda's and Uncle Kenneth's house. We dressed Cooper in an outfit that was Colby's. This little Santa suit is just too sweet, but he would NOT wear the hat

The kids always have a great time playing here and this year was no exception. Check out how strong Ryan has gotten giving piggy back rides to Riley and Cooper!

While we were there it started snowing and by the time we left there was close to 2 inches on the ground! We slipped and slid to Nana and Pa's house where the kids opened their gifts from them and Aunt May May.

Cooper got a Lightning McQueen to ride in. His face was priceless when I sat him down and he walked into the living room and saw it! He looked at the car, looked at me, and then grinned and took off for it!

Nana and Pa go WAY overboard on Christmas for the boys (they give as much as Santa does!) You couldn't have found the living room floor if you had wanted to that night!

Colby's favorite gift was the Tonka Richochet remote control car and he got a basketball goal to go in his bedroom that he loved too!

With all the opening excitement Cooper must have felt the need to escape..........he crawled under the tree to get away from the chaos!

After this stop we came home, put on pj's, left cookies and milk for Santa and headed off to bed. I was amazed at how quickly the kids went to sleep.........Santa was able to visit by 11:00!

Over Usage

The Vincent home has increased it's usage of toilet paper quite a bit in the last couple of weeks. The only thing I can attribute this to aside from the nasty stomach bug that plagued sweet Colby is Cooper's new trick.

Better go ahead and buy stock in Charmin now!

The Vincent Boys Visit Santa

Tonight we braved the mall to make our trip to see Santa. Cooper was less than thrilled with the visit, but Colby was eager to tell Santa all about what he wants for Christmas.

My Sweet Boys

I love being the mom of two of the sweetest boys on the planet!

It's getting harder and harder to get a good picture because Cooper is on the move now!

It just amazes me how tall Colby is getting. It is so hard to believe that he started at 15 inches in length and now he is one of the tallest kids in first grade. :)

I LOVE this sweet jon-jon from Creekside Creations! The best part........it's reversible! The inside is a snowman so we can wear it all winter long!

Cooper gives the best (and most slobbery) kisses of anyone in our home! He LOVES to kiss too and has caught several people off guard with his lip locking action! He'd better stop that before he grows up and discovers girls though! ;)

I adore pictures of my kids sleeping (even the big kid)!

Basketball Season Begins

December 4th Colby's second basketball season kicked off. He is once again on the Lakers team and Jeremy and Joey Morgan are the coaches. They have a super sweet group of kiddos and are turning out to be a pretty good team! Colby didn't get to play in his first game because he had a super nasty stomach virus, but his second game on December 11th was lots of fun!

Colby did the jump ball for the first time. He didn't really know exactly what to do because they had never worked on that skill, but he did a great job if you ask this partial Mommy!

Colby played two quarters and scored 8 points in the game. It was priceless watching his facial expressions as he made baskets.

Good luck Lakers on the rest of your season! I sure think it will be a great one!
