It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Well I couldn't take it anymore. This weekend we broke down and put up the Christmas tree. You would not believe the mess I left the tree and decorations in from last year, but when I put all of it away I was very pregnant and in psycho nesting mode! :)

We were excited to decorate in the new house for the first time, but a bit hesitant about putting the tree up with Cooper. He is pulling up on everything so we knew we had to have some sort of baby proofing going on with the tree.

After careful thought and research we went the way of the Rednecks and screwed it to the floor! Laugh if you will, but it is so sturdy he could climb it like a monkey and be okay! It has already come in quite handy too.........about 2 hours after it was finished he grabbed a low branch and hoisted himself right up - nothing moved but the ornaments swaying just a bit!

Enjoy the pictures!

Dear Cooper

Cooper it is so hard to believe you are already 10 months old! This post is (like usual) a few days late, but the pictures were taken on your 10 month day! It is getting much harder to get a picture of you with your month sign too!

This has been the month for Mommy and Daddy to eat their words. All of those "Oh he is the best baby" comments are out the window. You have turned on and are a handful!! We spend A LOT of time telling you "no" or "eh-eh" (which you do back to me now too!) just to keep you out of things that you aren't suppose to be in. You are pulling up on EVERYTHING and can crawl as fast as lightning! You have NO fear at all, seeing how you climb to the top of Amanda and Maretta's steps and fling yourself from the top. You also enjoy climbing into the dishwasher and trying to get into the bathtub on your own. I truly see trips to the emergency room in our future!

Each time we have to correct you that bottom lip pokes out instantly. I have always done this to my Daddy and now that has come back to haunt me. It is the most pitiful looking thing you have ever seen..........but it doesn't work on me! :)

You are eating table food a little bit now. You love mashed potatoes and Maretta has fed you gravy that she said you LOVE. You also have eaten peas, a tiny bit of chicken, and you LOVE yogurt!

You can now say "Ba Ba" for your bottle and are waving "hi" and "bye" when we come and go.

Most of your time is spent trying to get whatever your brother has. Thank goodness Colby is a good sport about it all and doesn't fuss to much.

We truly enjoy you and love having you in our lives. We can't wait to see what the next month brings!! We all love you so much!

Love,
Mommy

Test Over

For this post to actually make sense you would have to read my post titled "This is a Test" from a few days earlier. Test is over. Wanda was right. I caved. Jeremy was outside messing in the garage yesterday. I took the box out on the deck and threw it at him. Now it is in the garage and he might be scared of my stability. Grr.

PTO Performance

On Thursday the 1st grade classes at South Edmonson Elementary performed after the PTO meeting. They did a scarecrow poem and "The Turkey Wobble." It was super cute and the kids all did a great job!

Thankfully my Mom was able to make Colby's costume. Being the talentless Mommy that I am, I know I would have come up with a complete mess instead of this cute outfit!

Cooper really enjoyed watching all of the scarecrows dance and sing. We got lucky because Colby ended up standing right in front of where we had sat down. We had the perfect seats to watch him ham it up!

We are so lucky to have Ms. Monica for our 1st grade teacher! She is absolutely WONDERFUL and loves her students just like they were her own children, and in my eyes there is no better gift when it comes to your child's education.

Congrats Colby on your first school performance! You did an awesome job and we are so proud of you!

This is a Test.......

On Monday I put a box by the door and asked Jeremy to take it to the garage. Of course he has not. It is still in the exact same place I left it. I have cleaned house and lived daily life around it. I am NOT moving it. I just wonder how long he will leave it there? So this is a test..............anyone wanna bet on how long it takes for Mr. Vincent to get the hint?

A Walk in My Shoes

I have been terribly sick with strep throat for the past two days. Jeremy, being the oh so thoughtful man that he is (wink wink) decided he would stay home from work to help me out with taking care of Cooper during the night. I overheard him telling someone on the phone that he was really planning on just catching up on sleep. Huh.

So last night as we head to bed he says, "It can't be that bad. I don't know why you blow his getting up out of proportion." My blood boiled. Anger or fever? I don't know but I was hot!

So all though I slept very little last night each time Cooper woke up (10:00, 12:30, and 3:30) I lay very still and waited for Jeremy to get up and tend to him.

This morning Mr. Know-it-all's opinion of me has seemed to change! "Honey I am sorry," he said. "No wonder you are so tired all the time!"

Finally he sees!!

I don't know really what is going on with Cooper, but ever since we moved he has gotten up at least once, but most often twice each night. In the old house his crib was in my room and now he has his own bedroom. I don't know if this is it, or the fact that I am back at work and he misses me during the day. Regardless I am very proud that I haven't caved and put him in bed with me!!

So all though I still feel like poo, I do feel slightly better due to some justification of my whining for the past couple of months. Thanks Jeremy for stepping up and taking care of Cooper for one night! You know it's about time! The child is 9 1/2 months old! :)
