Not Intended for This Use

There are certain things toys are not intended to be used as.

For example, the ball pit is NOT to be used as a device to trap your Daddy.

Also, I am pretty certain that those 250 balls are to go in the pit, not to be used as arsenal in an all out war between father and sons. And I know for CERTAIN they are not intended to be thrown at Mama!

Lastly, I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure that Fisher Price did not intend for this fun little race track to be used as a seat.

Anyone else have toys used in a way they are not intended to? I KNOW I CAN'T be the ONLY one living in a ZOO! Ha! Happy Sunday!

Snow Day #9

Wednesday was Snow Day #9 for Warren County - maybe #10 for Edmonson - I have honestly lost track!

We began the day when Daddy got home from work at 8:00. Colby and I headed out for some snowy fun! We built a snowman (the snow would not roll so he is ore of a mound!)

Then the stupid dogs ATE it! They had been nipping while we were building, but after about three hours it was GONE! Grr!!

I took some pictures of the pretty scenery

while Colby hunted for some birds. (He swears he shot one! He he!)

Then I came in to make breakfast and Jeremy got the four wheeler going for some donut spinning!

The rest of the day was filled with snuggles and playing with toys. We love our LAZY snow days, but I am beginning to fear that we will still be in school in June. Maybe this will be the last one...........we shall see what Mother Nature has to say about that one! Hope you enjoyed your snowy day too!

Dear Cooper

Words can not express how quickly this year has passed! I absolutely can NOT believe that you are 12 months old - 1 year old. Wow.

You are obviously not as easy to get a picture of with our little sign these days! :)

This year has brought MANY changes to our family - all of which are totally worth while, just some are harder to get used to than others. You were such a wonderful infant. You rarely cried, you slept great, and you were laid back and just watched things. In the last couple of months you have taken that persona and turned it upside down! You are WIDE OPEN all the time!

You have such a personality. You laugh when other people are laughing and you love to SCREAM and GROWL when you want something. You also have this "ugly" face that you give us when you are not quite getting your way.

I really feel sorry for you in a way. When Colby was a baby we wouldn't dare let him fuss or cry. You on the other had have such elaborate fits that we just stand back and let you have at it! You HEAD BUTT like CRAZY! When you are in the throws of a good fit, you head butt the floor! Apparently you decided the other day also that the floor was too soft because Daddy caught you hit the floor, scream, stand up and head butt the wall!

You aren't walking - you are RUNNING! You get so tickled when you walk and we can hear your laughter all over the house as you run from one room to the next.

Colby is so patient with you. He loves you and does a great job helping out with you. There is nothing that makes your Daddy and I any prouder than when we watch the two of you play and love on each other. It takes our breathes away (sometimes with sweetness and others with laughter! Ha!)

You have found a new word. "No" You say it pretty much all day long, but that's okay!

We have gotten to spend loads of time together lately and I have LOVED it! Thanks to Christmas break and snow days you have only been at the sitters 6 days so the rest of the time has been great fun at home!

You love to play ball. You roll them and throw them.

You have decided that you like to kick back and give yourself your bottle. Sometimes I go with it, but at bedtime I still get to snuggle and rock you while you take your bottle. I don't plan on giving this time up any time soon!

It truly seems like it was only yesterday that I looked at your for the first time. You had my heart the moment we met and there is nothing in this world that I cherish more than my job as your and Colby's mom.

You have grown into such a funny, sweet, wild, and fearless little boy and I can't wait to see what the future brings. I hate that time has passed so quickly because you have grown from a 7 1/2 lb miracle

to a screeching toddler,

but it is bittersweet. I will miss those infant days, but I praise God that you are growing and developing correctly.

We love you more than you will ever know. Happy Birthday my sweet baby Cooper!

Love,
Mom

P.S. I can't believe I actually managed to keep this posting up for a year! Yay Mom!!!

Cooper's Birthday Party

On Sunday we celebrated Cooper's birthday with family. It's so funny because with Colby I did a big elaborate party for his first birthday, but not this time - the second time around I realize that just stresses a baby out and causes a meltdown later on so we went small!

After Christmas he kinda has the gift opening down. He got a slide from me, Jeremy, and Colby. He got a stuffed turtle and book from his May May, a train from his wonderful babysitters, and a ball pit with 200 balls from Nana and Pa (don't even dare to ask how many times I have picked those balls up in the last two days!)

My parents, sister, Aunt Linda and Uncle Kenneth, Riley and Rachel, and Maretta, Ashley, and Caden all joined us at our house for a couple of hours. Cooper got money, a sweet stuffed turtle and book from May May, and a ball pit and 200 balls from Nana and Pa (gee - thanks!)

Ms. Donna made the cake. It was the theme of "Snakes and Snails and Puppy Dog tails, that's what little boys are made of!" It was super cute!

At first Cooper wasn't too sure about the cake................."You gave this to me?? All of this???" seemed to be going through his head.

But then he got the hang of it...................and so did the floor and walls!:)

I can't believe he is already a year old! It breaks my heart, but I am so thankful that he is growing and developing just as he should! Thank you God for my sweet boy!

Cooper's 1st Haircut

This weekend the two big boys needed hair cuts so we headed to our usual spot, Cowles barber shop. After Colby and Jeremy finished I finally got the nerve up for Cooper's first cut and passed him over to Jeremy. My Uncle Ronald cut his hair (he also gave Colby his first cut at 10 months old).

The first cut always makes me so sad because it changes the way your sweet baby looks, but I think it is an improvement over the scraggle that was lurking around his ears and neck (my mom called them curls, but they looked like wild fuzz to me!)

Cooper (and Jeremy) did a great job! Colby even took the pictures - until he accidentally dropped the camera and broke it, bless his sweet heart. Good thing we had a back up handy!
