Pictures of Kids

I always forget how hard it is to take pictures of your children. Not just the cute snap shots around the house, but actual GOOD pictures. Today I met Sis in Bowling Green and we ventured out and about to take some pictures of the boys. I took 247 photos. I got about 25 GREAT ones, about 60 DECENT ones, and the rest went to that digital graveyard in the sky.

So is there a reason multiple children refuse to look at cameras at the same time? Do they form some kind of sibling alliance to drive Mom crazy? Will I ever have a perfect picture? Probably not, but that's okay. A perfect picture would NOT reflect this life I live with my boys ad I want to remember how it really is! :) Enjoy a few of the pictures!

We Love SEE!

I must be quite honest. After teaching at South Edmonson for three years (which I loved) and then being let go with "budget cuts" I always worried about sending my kids to school there. I knew the teachers were great, but I just thought it might feel "odd." Fast forward 6 years and we are in our 3rd year at SEE and couldn't be happier with our choice of schools! Kindergarten was ROUGH, but 1st grade with the FABULOUS Ms. Monica made up for that completely. Now Ms. M set the bar HIGH for teachers to follow, but then I get things like this sweet picture from Ms. Brandy and I am once again reminded that SEE has some of the best most caring teachers around!

Now I realize taking a photo and emailing it takes seconds, but if you have ever been in an elementary school you know every second counts and I truly appreciate her efforts to communicate with parents and make us feel like we are part of the classroom when we aren't able to be there.

As a teacher for Warren East Middle I often get asked why my son goes to a different school system. My answer..............why move when your kid is somewhere he is loved and is thriving?! Thanks SEE for being such a wonderful place for our kids!

Sunflowers Galore

Earlier in the summer Colby and I picked up some sunflower seeds. We took them home and planted them (which he loved doing) along one whole side of the garage. He sent a pack to Ms. Monica in the mail so that she could plant them at her house also. Throughout the summer they have written about the sunflowers progress. Colby has checked and watered them daily, then one day I hear an ear splitting "MOM!!!" and low and behold they had bloomed! They are BEAUTIFUL flowers and he sure is proud of them! Next year he wants to plant them "all over the yard." :-)

2nd Grade Here We Come!

Colby began second grade on Monday. It is so hard to believe that my baby boy is that old, but I am so proud of the little man he has turned out to be! He is in Mrs. Brandy Kinser's class with a wonderful group of kids. We are looking forward to another great year at South Edmonson Elementary!

Colby wanted to take flowers to Ms. Brandy on the first day. He also took some to Ms. Monica. He is so proud of them because he grew them!

Colby was really particular about clothes and back packs this year. He has never cared before but this year he knew just what he wanted. :)

Cooper didn't want Bubbie to leave. I don't begin until August 8th so Coop and I were home and he ran up and down the hall every day hollering for his brother. So sweet!

Me and my precious little man! I LOVE this child so much I could bust!

Summer Time Blues

Okay. So could I be a worse blogger??? NO!!! Sorry for the lack of updates, but I have been enjoying my summer home with my sweet guys. We haven't done much, just swimming, playing outside, and being together, but it has been WONDERFUL! We sure are sad to see it go, but thankful to have had all this time together!

Enjoy the pictures!

From Worst to First

In case you haven't read my celebratory posts on Facebook recently, THE CARDINALS WON THE T-BALL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!! We are so proud of these super sweet boys!

For many of us this season brought us full circle. Three years ago when our little team began we had a season of scoreboards turned off (horribly behind our opponents!) and flower picking on the field. We were dead last in the league. Season two saw us to third place. This year we took it all!!!

These boys have learned so much. They love the game and they love each other. It has been wonderful to share this experience with so many sweet families. Our Cardinal days will surely be missed!

Way to go boys! We are so proud of you!!!

And special props to my favorite Cardinal! Colby we LOVE watching you play ball! You have learned how to make great outs at first, to hustle your best, and you can SLUG that ball!! Way to go Champ!

I can't wait to see what you learn next year on the "big field!"

And P.S. I LOVE our pitcher!!! Ha ha! Jeremy you did a great job! I would have cracked under the pressure of some of these games. Way to go babe!
