On The Move

Well if you haven't heard by now - we are moving! It has been such a whirlwind. We literally found the house early last week and are moving at the end of this week! Shew!

Right now we live in a tiny house that is less than 1000 sq. feet. It is 100 years old (literally) and has no doors except on the bathroom, has no closets, wavy floors, is hard to heat and cool, etc, etc. As bad as that description sounds, we have not been miserable in this house. Jeremy often sang the song by Alan Jackson about how "Love grows best in little houses" and we would laugh and say it was true.

Then last week we stumbled upon a house that was in our budget and everything just feel into place! It is a plain and modest house but it has 1500 sq feet, a two car garage, three bedrooms (poor Cooper didn't have a space to call his own), CLOSETS, 2 baths, even floors, and DOORS! LOL! It is also only a little over a mile away from my parents and Colby and his Pa are THRILLED about this!

The house was in great shape and just needed a good cleaning and we decided to do a fresh coat of paint over everything. So the past two weeks have been busy to say the least. I have packed during the day while Jeremy sleeps then he gets up around 3 and we go to the house and work until about 9 and after he goes into work I find time for my homework and a little bit of sleep.

Surprisingly enough Jeremy and I have worked side by side the whole time and have not had even the first cross word! We do really make a good team when we need to! :)

My mom has been a great help too. She is a wonderful painter and so she has helped us with that. We are also doing a couple of "feature walls" with the textured paintable wallpaper and she has taken care of that for us too. Thanks Mom!

I don't have any pictures of the house yet but I do have one of Colby helping paint his new room. He did a great job helping his Nana! And Jeremy and I had to paint our initials on the wall..............we have done that in every room we have ever painted!

I will be offline for a few days but when we get settled I will post pictures and catch up with my blogging buddies! Wish us luck as we move on Saturday!

My Toothless Wonder

Last Thursday Colby lost his very first tooth! It had been loose for a couple of weeks and had gotten to the point that we were afraid he was going to swallow it so I bribed him into letting me try and pull it. After several attempts over many days it finally came out!! He was a little surprised by the blood but laughed and said "That didn't hurt at all Mama!"

He rushed and woke up his Daddy to tell him the tooth had finally come out and then went to get his "Tooth Pillow" that his Nana had made him (you put the tooth in the little pocket on the front and the Tooth Fairy leaves your prize in there - so cute!)

The Tooth Fairy gave Colby $6 dollars for his first tooth because he is 6 years old. He was so happy when he found his money the next morning!

I love my sweet "toothless wonder!"

Dear Cooper

Welcome to 6 months old sweet Cooper! (This post is a few days late but the picture was made on the 11th - Mommy just can't seem to find much time to post these days!)

You are doing so many things new this month! You can now sit by yourself for 15 minutes or so at a time. You can get a hold of most anything you want (Colby isn't fond of this as you have grabbed his DS several times). You have also started babbling the sounds we want to hear. First was "Da-Da" then came "Bu-Bu" and now you are on to "Ma-Ma." I don't think you realize what "Ma-Ma" really means but you use it more as a distress cry for "I'm hungry" and "I'm ticked off." I'll take it though!

You are in love with your brother. You watch every move he makes and when you get fussy all Colby has to do is talk to you and you calm right back down. He loves holding you and you don't seem to mind it either.

Your newest trick is escaping from your bouncy seat. The strap is broke on the seat so since you have been big enough to use it I have just set you in it. The other day I came in the living room and found you in the floor and couldn't figure out how you had gotten out then a few days later we caught you in the act!

You are such a blessing to our family and we continue to love you more every day! We love you!

Love,
Mom

Holiday World Fun

On Wednesday Colby, Jeremy, my sister Meagan, and I headed to Holiday World (Thanks Mareeta and Mom and Dad for watching Cooper!)

This was Colby's first trip to an amusement park of any kind and he LOVED it! We spent the majority of our time in the water park where my boys fussed at me for putting sunscreen on them 10 times (seriously.....it was 10 times!) and where I learned the true meaning of a water wedgie!! The water slides were so fun and Colby was so brave! We loved the new Wildebeast the best though...........even though Colby threw up when we got off the ride! He said "I wanna do it again.....it just scared a little puke out of me!" LOL!

We also found it to be a very educational experience for us. We saw every imaginable tattoo on the planet while we were there. Anything from the professional Captain Jack Sparrow that took up one lady's whole back to the prison quality "Back the @##$% Off" we stood in line behind. Gotta love being around a bunch of half naked strangers!!

We had a blast and can't wait to go back again!

Panic Stricken Celebration

I have so many things in my life to be thankful for. At the same time those things seem to be torturing me at this moment. I know I will overcome these obstacles and that everything will be okay but I am currently panic stricken and I need to whine a bit and get it out.............I totally understand if you leave this post immediately!

For the past year I have been working on my Rank I in special education. The program has been a breeze overall - until now. I am currently enrolled in my final two classes. Both of which will end on August 27th (Hooray!!) These classes seem to have more work in them than my other classes combined. I have a 25 page paper that will be great reading for someone wanting to be bored into a coma as well as 10 other assignments ranging from 3 to 8 pages each. All with appropriate references in APA style - blah, blah, blah. 8 weeks left to get it all done doesn't seem like enough time. And add to that my need to get it all done before school starts in 4 weeks and you can understand my panic!

In addition in August I will be taking on a brand new chapter in my career. I will be teaching special education at Warren East Middle School! I am so excited about it! I love the people I work with and am so thankful that this job has been given to me. I can't wait to get started but I am worried about all of the responsibility that comes with being a special educator. The paper work and legality that you are responsible for is monumental...........so add that to all of the classwork and I AM STRESSED TO THE MAX!!!!

I know I can do it and am thankful to have to opportunity to be on both of these adventures but friends say a prayer that I don't have a melt down (or a mental break down) in the process!

Thanks for letting me whine! And yes I am planning to celebrate in a BIG way when that Rank I is finished! Woo hoo! No more grad classes EVER!!!
