Because I Am A Mother

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day. I was able to spend it with my sweet little family and we had a great day. As the day draws to a close, I can't help but think of some of the things I am able to do now that I am a mother that I didn't do before. For example:

1. Clean up bodily excretions without getting sick.
2. Enter the boys restroom without hesitation if my little man has been in there too long (he seems to think he will DIE if he uses the girl's restroom now!)
3. Cut in line on occasion "because my little boy is waiting unhappily in the car."
4. Eat pizza for more than one meal in a day (we only did this once, but it was a first for me.)
5. Get excited over poop.
6. Analyze the color of snot.
7. Dig fishing worms and then keep them living in the house so we can watch how they "live."
8. Find something interesting in the mundane.
9. Understand the difference and importance of every kind of car/tractor/construction equipment/train/and anything else he is interested in.
10. Love so much that I wonder if my heart might burst.

Thank you God for making me Colby's mother. Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!

It's amazing how your conversations seem to change after being a mother as opposed to before motherhood. I have had lots of conversations with other mothers about bowel consistency and runny noses in the past seven years. I love every minute of it!!!! Colby's lucky to have such a great mother.
